The Met Gala 2013: Beauties and Not

The creme de la creme of Art Galas happened on Sunday night in the Metropolitan Museum, New York City. The theme for this event was punk and all the attendees dressed to the occasion with metals, spikes and leather! All the beautiful celebrities were there and here's an inside look of my favorite outfits of the night! Enjoy!

Who Wore It Best!
Rooney Mara and Riccardo Tisci:
Wow, Rooney looks so glamorous in this white gown and the fancy back (open back) is my favorite part of it all. The shoulders, I have to say, are amazing as well. She has really grown in her sense of style through out these events of the past few years. So proud! She wore a white Givenchy Haute Couture lace dress by Riccarco Tisci (creative director of Givency) Riccardo looked just as handsome, I'm sure he was dressed in Givency, and they looked so beautiful together.

Anne Hathaway:
Looking gorgeous in her new blonde hair, she wore a black vintage Valentino dress from 1992. She looks stunning and looks so modern! Her dress is vintage yet it looks like it was made especially for her. The details on this dress are impeccable! I am so blown away! (BTW this is how you do punk hair). Look how Gerard Butler looks at her <3 He looks gorgeous as well in that suit and bow tie, I must say.

Sarah Jessica Parker:
I love her and think she looks gorgeous, though I could have done without the headpiece. Her dress is absolutely stunning on her.
Headpiece is by Philip Treacy and Gilles dress.

Rosie Huntington-Whitely:
She looked so fierce in her metal dress by Gucci. It was a stunning black and gold gown!

Emmy Rossum:
All I can say is wow!! She looks absolutely gorgeous!! My favorite part of this dress is he back and the tail. Bravo Emmy! Her dress is a one-of-a-kind Donna Karen Atelier platinum embroidered lace gown and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.

Who Didn't Make The Cut:

Nicole Richie:
Okay, first thing that threw me off was the bleached white/blue hair, what?? I have no idea what she was thinking and maybe the color is the reason why I don't think she can pull off the pixie cut. I guess she took the theme "punk" to a wholenother level.
The dress is by topshop.

Dakota Fanning:
Dressed in a black and cream silk charmeuse Rodarte gown complete with wings on the back and cut outs. Sweety, what are you thinking? You're 20 years old and it looks like you don't have a stylist!
What you needed was a black short, skater style dress/gown, embroidered if you like and deff with cut outs to add that rebellious touch. Add some metals on your arms and fingers, pull up the hair and line those eyes. Sorry girl, this one just didn't make the cut.

Jessica Biel:
She literally layered every lace Giambattista Valli Haute Couture piece she could find to pull this off. Sad part: she didn't pull this off. I am not feeling those leggings, the shape of the dress, the cut, the style, nothing. It doesn't help that her face is so neutral. High and low dresses are meant to show off your legs, if you don't want that then don't chose it. Opt for a long gown with a slit if you want just a little showy. Better luck next time!

Sophia Coppola and Marc Jacobs:
Okay, I understand Jacobs dilemma of "standing out" and maybe this looks good in person. But right now, he looks extremely short (which I think he is) next to Coppola and the dots are not helping. Full on suit with dots is a no.
As for Coppola, what are you doing?? Go home and get out of your satin pajamas. (by Marc Jacobs go figure). Just because they look comfortable and you "didn't want to wear a gown" doesn't mean you should!! Stylist! Where was your head when you dressed this woman?
You're a celebrity for godsakes! Dress the part and enjoy it!

Miley Cyrus:
Um... what can I say but what?? The dress is blah, the hair is AH, the face is plain, and overall the look is not working. Maybe with a slicked back due it would have worked but this is taking it to a distasteful level. She's been going downhill ever since she dyed and cut her hair.
